Liverpool FC legend Bill Shankly remembered on his 101st birthday

Today would have been the 101st birthday of Liverpool legend Bill Shankly. The man from Glenbuck, Scotland, took Liverpool from the depths of the Second Division and rebuilt them into a major force in England and Europe.

During his 15-year managerial reign at the club he achieved unprecedented success with three First Division Championships, two FA Cups, four Charity Shields and one Uefa Cup after guiding the Reds into the top flight with promotion from the Second Division in 1962.

He made the people happy – and laid the foundations for greatness at LFC.
