POLITICAL CHANGE AFOOT WITH LA VOIX NATIONALE LAUNCH

PORT LOUIS, 20 MAY 2016: La Voix Nationale was formally unveiled today during a press conference held at Le Saint Georges Hotel.

“A change of mindset and perspectives of politics is needed from grassroots level upwards. We are here to unite people not to divide them. We have to work together for its progress and we are inviting people from all over the country to join us. There are no cultural divisions, no one is categorised Hindu, Muslim, Christian or Chinese – this is an organisation of Mauritians for Mauritius’ greater good. We are simply here to serve the people of Mauritius and see to it that their requests are respected and served,” the national president of LVN, Krishna Athal, said.

“Our loyalty rests with the Mauritian people who we will selflessly serve to enhance the common good and wellbeing of the Mauritian nation. We affirm we have never, nor will we ever, cooperate with anyone that works against the Mauritian people.

We are here to defend Mauritian freedom, identity and traditional values. We are also here to protect life, liberty and equal opportunity for all citizens of the country while embracing the modernity of the country’s progression. We will ensure that a strong foundation of justice, accountability and transparency is not only created, but maintained”, he added.

La Voix Nationale has named 42 members of diverse background and origin to its national executive. LVN’s objective, from its inception, is to garner support from people of all age groups in Mauritius. For this purpose, three wings, namely Students’ Wing, Women’s Wing and Old People Wing have been set up. The organisation’s official website is www.lavoixnationale.mu.

Official social media accounts have also been set up like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and LinkedIn to share information about La Voix Nationale and its functions, as well as engage with people in a conversation about the organisation.

LVN’s launch coincides with the young people of Mauritius’ revolution that took place 41 years ago on 20 May 1975. Just like the youth who participated in the fight against a poor education system 41 years ago, so is LVN committed to fighting a system that has succumbed to corruption, greed, and gross abuse of power. LVN is here to see to it that change is effected in a sustainable manner for the Mauritian people, by the Mauritian people.
