Hippisme: Agressé, Sewdyal a porté plainte, Chui Wan Chong dément…

Sir,

I, the above-named person, have integrated the Amardeep Sewdyal Stable as a registered owner after the acquisition of the horse named Student Grant in the mid-year of 2017. I bear 20% of ownership on the horse. Last year, as an owner I have been solicited to contribute greatly to the stable to bear different types of costs such as the keep for the horse, the stable box, the weekly refreshments in the stable box, the jockey’s salary, the betting pools, etc. Everything was going on smoothly.

In 2018, Amardeep Sewdyal made us invest in the acquisition of the horse named King’s Empire in which I have a share of 25%. However, we started encountering loads of misadventures in the stable. Amardeep Sewdyal denied me access from the stable box on the pretext that he has some premium owners whom he favored. The atmosphere in the stable was not the same as last year and it kept deteriorating day by day. There is only a group of owners who has the first call for the betting on the stable best chances of the week even if all the owners bear the same cost at the stable by the payment of the keeps of the horses and all other additional costing. The trainer doesn’t even update me the news on my horses nor does he even tell me the chances of my horses when they are running. I even need to contribute more sometimes just to know the chances of the stable. It’s really unacceptable that I bear the same cost but I am being treated differently.

Moreover, I have got to know though different sources that the trainer, Amardeep Sewdyal has charged us more than needed for the acquisition of the horse named King’s Empire. For a 25% share, I have paid Rs 300,000 but the actual price that the horse has been bought is a total of Rs 427,382. I have proof for the real costing of the horse and what I have paid for. I feel cheated by the trainer. The horse contracted a colic when he was in quarantine and the trainer made me pay an additional fee of 30,000 Rand. If I take the example of the horse named Victory Team, he also had the same problem in the quarantine but no additional fee was paid. Amardeep Sewdyal is buying horses for small amount in South Africa and here in Mauritius he is cheating owners and selling those horses to them at an exorbitant price which is completely unethical and unprofessional.

Following that, when I mentioned the above reasons to Amardeep Sewdyal he told me to go and do whatever I want. On 24th November 2018, King’s Empire was going to run in the 7th race. I went in the paddock before the race for the gathering to talk about the strategy the horse will follow during the race. To my great discontentment, Amardeep Sewdyal insulted in front of my fellow stable mate and he stated in creole, “ Tne vin lecourse, to pa bizin vini parski to p ale ouver ene nuvo lecurie pu twa. Mr Pradeep Sreeneebus who is a co-owner of King’s Empire has also insulted me, “Si ou pe ouver lecurie, ale. “ I have a witness for both these issues that happened. I feel that my reputation was tarnished as we were surrounded by so many people in the paddock and I have to hear such disgusting words from the trainer. Adding to these, Mrs Bhavna Sewdyal who is not a registered owner for King’s Empire has her name figured on the race card which is inadmissible to me. Amardeep Sewdyal is misusing his powers to place his wife’s name on the race card for several horses in the stable.

Furthermore, I’m not surprised at all by the undesirable incidents that trainer Amardeep Sewdyal was subjected to during the year 2019. How could a trainer celebrate another stable win (i.e Starsky) by screaming “yesss” in the paddock when he himself has a horse named Spun Out running in that same race? Is he fixing races? In the case of Artax, how can the trainer behave as if he doesn’t know anything about the doping of the horse when the latter is under his responsibility? The real question is how a trainer like Amardeep Sewdyal can still has his license when he has such bad deplorable behaviors towards his owners and he has such bad deeds in the racing industry?

Sincerely,

Anrood Seebrun,
