Construction Price Index – 4th Quarter 2017



The Construction Price Index which stood at 114.9 as at September 2017, increased by 1.2% or 1.4 points during the 4th quarter of 2017 to reach 116.3 in December 2017.

The sub-indices “Labour”, “Hire of Plant” and “Transport” remained unchanged during the quarter.

The “Materials” sub index registered no change in October, but increased by 2.1 % in November. It remained unchanged in December.

 

The 2.1% increase in the “Materials” sub index in November was due to price increases of hardcore (4.3%), sand (4.9%), aggregate (6.0%), and blocks (14.0%).
