WHITE RIVER SEALS THE GRAND SLAM!
Presented with a golden opportunity to seal the Grand Slam in winning all four classic races in one season, #1 White River (Manöel Nunes) did not put a foot wrong, as he entered his name in the history books.
#1 White River followed in 4th position, before his jockey made his move before the final bend. From then onwards, it was plain sailing to victory, ensuring that Rameshwar Gujadhur became the third trainer to win all four classic races in the same season, and earning his jockey his third straight classic win.
3rd in last year’s race, #4 Table Bay (Swapneel Rama) went one position better, while #7 Alshibaa (Derreck David) and #6 Ten Gun Salute (Nooresh Juglall) were 3rd and 4th respectively.
