THE PROFLON CUP (50+) : BIG MISTAKE – THE ONE TO BEAT
The final meeting of the regular season is not an ordinary one, as it is a day for horses that have not visited the winner’s enclosure this season. 82 runners have been entered for this Saturday’s meeting, with 7 of them featuring in the topliner – The Proflon Cup over the 1400 metres.
BIG MISTAKE (Manoel Nunes) has gone close to striking on more than one occasion. Last time out, he chased Henry Tudor all the way over the 990 metres. He will appreciate the step up in trip this time round and he represents an in-form yard, he has every chance of going one better.
KAZAAR (Jameer Allyhosain) has blown hot and cold throughout his debut season. He has raced six times, with his best result being second place to Champions Stayer Opera Royal in the 27th meeting. He has showed up strongly in his recent workouts and in this contest, he merits a lot of respect.
One yard which is ending the season strongly is Shirish Narang’s, and representing them is ZUD WES (Krishna Mudhoo). He has been unplaced in all of his races this season, failing to make his presence felt at the finish. Compared to his last run, he will relish running over the shorter trip and an improved showing is forthcoming from him.
THE TRIPSTER (Niven Marday) represents the in-form Simon Jones yard. He has blown hot and cold throughout the season, but in this contest, he should be thereabouts.
SPEED LIMIT (Swapneel Rama), WILD HORIZON (Vijay-Anand Budnhoo) and DREAMFOREST (Dinesh Sooful) all complete the line-up. All three have been disappointing this season and they have it all to do here.
