The Ministry of Health and Wellness wishes to inform the public of the following decisions related to:
(i) Regulations on the Redefinition of “Fully vaccinated” and “Booster Dose”

The above-mentioned regulations made by the Ministry of Health and Wellness under Section 13 of the Quarantine Act 2020, and which was due to come into operation on 15th January 2000 has now been exceptionally extended to the 19th February 2022.

(ii) Eligibility for Pfizer BioNTech Vaccines

As from Monday 16th January 2022, Pfizer BioNTech vaccines will be administered as a first dose to all unvaccinated Mauritians and residents aged 40 and above.

In addition, the Ministry pf Health and Wellness is already offering the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine as a booster dose to:
o All those aged and above
o High risk patients

The Ministry of Health and Wellness has also decided to authorize private clinics, duly registered for such purposes, to administer the Pizer BioNTech vaccine to all eligible categories of persons, as listed above.
