Representatives of local jockeys expressed their satisfaction at a meeting held at the
offices of the Horse Racing Division this Monday 27 June 2022, that the insurance issue
they encountered has been resolved.

They informed the HRD that they are now covered when also riding in training the week
that People’s Turf Plc is in charge of the track. Jockeys further stated that People’s Turf
Plc is paying for their insurances, which also cover them during race days.

The local riders were already covered while riding in training and on race days for MTC
Sports And Leisure Ltd, to which they pay a monthly fee of around Rs 5000.
