Accusée d’avoir détourné Rs24,200 : Une “Zumba instructor” de Space Fitness Ltd est acquittée

Marie Dominique Anouchka Zuel, “Zumba instructor” et réceptionniste chez Space Fitness Ltd à Curepipe, a été acquittée sous une charge d’avoir détourné Rs24,200. L’acte d’accusation se lit ainsi: “wilfully and fraudulently whilst being a person in service receiving wages, wilfully and unlawfully embezzling money which has been delivered to her merely for a work without a promise of remuneration with the condition that same be produced”. La magistrate B. R. Janoo-Jaunbocus estime que la poursuite n’a pu prouver le délit “beyond reasonable doubt”. Celle-ci avait comme témoin principal Mme Laviolette, une collègue de l’accusée, mais son témoignage n’a pas été convaincant.

De plus, la magistrate Janoo-Jaunbocus trouve que le “fraudulent intent” n’a pas été prouvé.
